"Office Staff is nice, great customer service, and friendly. Doctor came in and was straight to the point, took off things that I didn’t need on my plan. Hygienist did an awesome job on my cleaning."- M.B. / Google / Nov 28, 2023
"I don't usually provide reviews on Google but I think this is worth mentioning. I originally saw a different dentist at the Pasadena location earlier this year. When my procedure was scheduled, it was with a different provider which made me nervous. Dr. Je and the staff at this location took extra precaution making sure I was comfortable moving forward with the procedure. Dr. Je showed patience and understanding ensuring I was informed during the entire procedure relieving my anxiety."- D.B. / Google / Jul 25, 2023

For the most part, oral-conscious sedation can be used to help patients of all ages who suffer from dental fears and anxieties. Prior to giving you a prescription for an oral-conscious medication, your dentist will perform a comprehensive evaluation to make sure that you're a good candidate. Your dentist will ask about your current medication, medical history, and any other issues to make sure oral-conscious sedation is safe for you as well as the type and dose of medication that is appropriate. Oral-conscious sedation may not be recommended if you have a heart or respiratory condition, you are or may be pregnant, or you have an allergy to benzodiazepines.
What to Expect
Oral-conscious sedation can be performed with several types of prescription medications. The type that is prescribed by your board-certified MINT dentistry professional will be based on your anxiety level, your overall health, the procedure you are getting, and how long your appointment will last. Your medication prescription will be written at your consultation and you should have it filled at a pharmacy before your appointment. Since you need to take the medication before you get to our office, you need to have someone drive you. If you are under light sedation, you will feel relaxed but alert. If you are under moderate sedation, you will still be awake, but you may feel like you were asleep because of short-term memory loss. You might fall asleep but you will be easy to wake up. We will make sure you are comfortable and safe during your appointment.
What to expect after oral-conscious sedation will vary based on which medication you took. You will need to have a responsible adult pick you up after your appointment and watch you for a few hours. Your team will discuss potential side effects of your oral-conscious sedation medication. The most common side effects are temporary dizziness, headaches, vomiting, or nausea. Your risk of vomiting and nausea can be improved by taking the medication after a light meal and then eating a snack when you get home. If you're worried about side effects after a few hours, please contact us for information.
